The end of an era: Mantino 04

The smoke and heat from our bodies swirled with the spirits of the long forgotten dead of the mental institution. We paid homage to their suffering by documenting the dilapidation of the hospital.

Another dank, wet wall in a dank, wet building. The last remnants of a bygone era, the lead paint gives way to rust and decay. This picture was taken at the Mantino State Hospital sometime in early 2004.Shortly after this picture was taken, the tortured soul that inhabited the lower portions of this building screamed for us to leave.

The head was superimposed to protect the innocent. Or something. Outside. Night. Spirits abound.
